About PoolTradie
Why PoolTradie sorts Australian pool builders, fencers, cleaners, inspectors and landscapers by trade, and what it leaves to the regulators.
A backyard pool brings in a long list of trades. Someone builds it, someone fences it to the state rules, someone keeps the water clean, someone inspects the barrier, and a landscaper usually finishes the yard around it. Many owners deal with several of them in the first year and know little about any. PoolTradie lists the companies by trade and city, which lets you compare who does which job before you ring for a quote.
What the lists cover
The trades are pool builders, pool cleaning and maintenance, pool renovation and repair, pool fencing, pool safety inspectors, landscapers and artificial grass installers. Concrete pool builders, fibreglass pool builders and landscape designers get a city page each, because they are different jobs from the general trade. Inside the other lists, buttons narrow the choice to plunge pools, glass pool fencing, resurfacing, tiling, leak detection or landscapers for pool areas. The pool safety inspector lists are short outside Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, where inspections and certificates are most common. Each company page shows the work it does, the area it works from and its opening hours.
Where we cover
The lists reach the capital cities and regional centres such as Newcastle, Geelong, Townsville, Wollongong and Busselton, and new ones arrive gradually. Pool law is made state by state. A Queensland owner deals with the QBCC and its pool safety register, a Victorian registers the pool with the council, and in Western Australia the local government inspects private pool barriers on a regular cycle. Climate changes the work too. Water evaporates faster in a dry Perth or Adelaide summer, the wet season in Darwin and Cairns brings storms, leaves and extra water to treat, and a pool in Hobart or Canberra may go unused for months in winter.
What we do not do
We are not a pool builder, fencer, certifier, inspector or regulator, and we do not design pools, inspect barriers, write quotes or book work. We also cannot judge a price or tell you whether your pool or fence complies, because only an inspector or certifier authorised in your state can. Licences, insurance and certificates are not checked here company by company. Our selection page explains how to do that yourself, and your contract is with the company alone.
Who pays for the site
Reading it costs nothing. Pro and Top upgrades, which tradies take once they are on a list, cover the running costs, and each one is labelled. The site runs no advertising.
