Terms of use

The rules for using PoolTradie, a free Australian guide to pool builders, fencers, cleaners, inspectors, landscapers and artificial grass installers.

What these terms cover

These terms set out how you may use PoolTradie (pooltradie.com), a free guide to pool and backyard trades in Australia. By using the site you accept them.

Not a design, a quote or advice

Our lists are a starting point for finding and comparing companies. They are not a pool design, a site inspection, a certificate or a quote, and they are not building, plumbing, electrical, safety, legal or financial advice. They cannot tell you whether a pool or barrier complies, whether a price is fair or which approval your job needs.

A guide, not a trade

PoolTradie does not build, fence, clean, repair, inspect or certify pools, carry out landscaping, arrange finance, book work or charge users. We make no promise about the licences, insurance, certificates, prices, warranties or availability of any company, and whatever you agree is agreed between you and that company.

How the lists are made

Each list draws on public information about the companies in it, such as what customers say about them, the work they describe and their hours, and on the criteria explained on the page on how we select. Top puts a company in a highlighted spot and Pro gives it a fuller page. Both are labelled, and neither is a check of the company or a recommendation from us.

Check before you hire

Details change, among them phone numbers, hours, prices, licences, certificates and the rules for pools in each state. We only look over the lists from time to time. Confirm what matters with the company, look up its licence with your state regulator and ask your council what your pool or fence needs.

Company pages and the area for trades

By claiming a page, a person confirms they are entitled to manage it, that the company holds the licences, registrations and insurance its work calls for, and that everything they publish is true and not misleading, including claims about compliance, certification, safety or warranties. We can edit or remove content that falls short. Each plan’s terms appear in that area.

What you must not do

Do not use the site for anything unlawful, copy its lists with automated tools, try to enter restricted areas, pretend to be someone else or another company, or give false details.

Ownership of the content

The name, design, texts, selection criteria and list order of PoolTradie belong to its owner or are used with permission. You are welcome to link to the site and quote it with a credit. Copying a substantial part needs our permission.

Liability, law and changes

Rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded are not excluded by these terms. Beyond that, as far as the law allows, PoolTradie is not responsible for what listed companies say or do, or for the content of other sites. Australian law applies to these terms. We may update them, and the version on this page is the one in force.
